Modern and fully automated production line
– A strategic boost for the future
Normeka has invested in one of the market’s most modern and flexible production lines for sheet metal processing. With TRUMPF TruPunch 5000, TruBend Cell 5130, and the QuickSharp tool grinder, we have established an efficient, precise, and scalable production platform that strengthens our delivery capacity and competitiveness.
The investment in our new production line is the result of a long-term and thorough strategic process. An aging machine park, combined with increasing demands for efficiency, quality, and access to the right expertise, made it clear that Normeka needed to take a significant technological leap to secure continued growth and competitiveness.
A new production facility was early identified as a necessary part of the solution. Extensive analyses, studies, and tender processes were carried out – including a study trip to Germany to evaluate technology and production setups at leading industry players.
On December 9, 2024, a comprehensive decision was made: Normeka would invest in both a new facility and a state-of-the-art machine line from TRUMPF – with clear plans for further automation in phase 2.
Construction began shortly after Easter 2025, and the project was completed according to schedule. The new machines were delivered on November 3 the same year – ready to set a new standard for our sheet metal production.
Interaction between technology and people
A key principle throughout the entire project has been that technology should enhance – not replace – expertise. Our operators have been closely involved in specifying and designing the machine line and have played a central role throughout the entire process.
The result is a production line optimized for practical operation, efficient use, and high quality – developed through close interaction between machine and human.
Competence development is central to our strategy. Normeka is an approved apprenticeship company within the trade and has actively recruited new apprentices – including a young woman entering the sheet metal profession. We also participate in Næringslivets Hovedorganisasjon’s program “Jenter og teknologi” (“Girls and Technology”) and work purposefully to make the industry more inclusive and attractive.
This new initiative has already made Normeka an even more attractive workplace – both for young people entering the trade and for experienced skilled workers who want to work with modern technology.
TRUMPF TruPunch 5000

The high stroke rate combined with rapid tool changes ensures highly efficient production and short cycle times.
Automation as a competitive advantage
SheetMaster enables fully automated loading and unloading of sheets, stable operation, and lights-out production.
The machine is fully prepared for integration with a future automatic sheet storage system located behind the machine. This enables a highly efficient and scalable production setup with minimal manual handling – laying the foundation for fully automated 24/7 production.
For our customers, this means:
- High and consistent quality
- Shorter lead times
- Competitive pricing
- Reliable capacity, even for larger volumes
TRUMPF QuickSharp
Constant quality – maximum tool life
To ensure stable and consistently high quality in the punching process, Normeka has also invested in TRUMPF QuickSharp – an automatic tool grinder for punching tools. This directly contributes to improved precision, lower costs, and increased delivery reliability.
Benefits:
- Automatic grinding of punching tools
- Consistently high quality of punched parts
- Extended tool life
- Reduced downtime
- Reduced need for manual tool handling
TRUMPF TruBend Cell 5130
Automated precision – even with varying batch sizes
TruBend Cell 5130 is a complete, automated press brake cell that combines high precision, repeatable quality, and efficient production. The solution is ideal for small and medium-sized batches – providing flexibility without compromising efficiency.

The integrated robotic solution ensures stable and repeatable production with extremely high accuracy, based on TRUMPF’s advanced bending technology. Like the punching machine, the press brake cell is prepared for full automation integration with a future sheet storage system located behind the machines. It is also prepared for automatic tool changing (ToolMaster).
This provides:
- Seamless material flow
- A high degree of autonomous production
- Reduced vulnerability to staffing fluctuations
- Strong opportunities for future expansion
For our customers, this means high delivery precision, consistent quality, and the ability to handle both prototypes and serial production efficiently.
TRUMPF TruTops Boost
3D In / 3D Out – The latest programming technology
As part of our comprehensive investment in modern production, we use TRUMPF TruTops Boost – an advanced software solution for programming, analysis, monitoring, and optimization of machine performance. TruTops Boost collects and analyzes production data in real time, providing valuable insights into capacity utilization, cycle times, causes of downtime, and improvement potential.
This enables systematic continuous improvement and ensures that the machine line consistently performs at the highest level – both in terms of efficiency and quality.
A Future-Oriented Production Platform
Together, these machines form a modern, flexible, and future-oriented production line featuring:
- High capacity
- High and fully documented quality
- Short lead times
- Scalable automation
- Efficient and predictable production
HSE, environment, and sustainability
An investment in people, environment, and material expertise
The investment in a new facility and modern machine line is also a clear commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards. The new production solution provides a significantly improved working environment, with reduced noise, less vibration, and far less manual handling of heavy sheets and components. Automated loading and unloading, robotic handling, and optimized material flow reduce physical strain and the risk of injury, while making production more transparent and structured.
The new building is designed with ample space, logical goods flow, and clear separation between processes. This ensures safer working conditions, fewer bottlenecks, and better overall production control.
At the same time, the investment strengthens our environmental profile and supports sustainable operations:
- Increased precision through mechanical and laser-based angle measurement reduces errors and rework
- Integrated tool grinding ensures optimal tool condition, longer service life, and reduced resource consumption
- Automation and stable processes minimize scrap and improve material utilization
- Efficient production flow reduces internal transport and energy use per unit produced
Normeka also has strong and long-standing expertise in aluminum as a material. Aluminum is lightweight, strong, and fully recyclable – and when properly processed, it provides long service life and low environmental impact throughout the product lifecycle. Our in-depth knowledge of aluminum processing enables us to optimize design, reduce material consumption, and ensure high quality with minimal resource use.
For Normeka, sustainability is not only about technology – it is about expertise, responsible material choices, and long-term investments that create a safe, efficient, and future-oriented workplace for both current and future skilled professionals.
